If you wish to have a look over the city of Istanbul and the Bosphorus river, its worth to visit the Galata tower, a medieval stone tower, located at the Galata district of Istanbul. you can ride one of the elevators to the top and have a panoramic overlook from the top of the almost 70 meters tall tower.

There are few simple tricks that taxi drivers in Istanbul are trying to get away with tourists – so here are  a few i noticed:

1. Pay attention to the fact that sometimes bills have same color and when paying make sure to see exactly what you pay and even say it out loud, a driver was trying to say we paid X when in fact we paid 10X.

2. Know where you are heading to and the direction – otherwise you will find ourselves going around in circles to increase meter numbers…

3. Speaking of meters – pay attention to this, there is a way to just add some money there, so make sure you keep an eye there as well.

Other than that, Istanbul is amazing – enjoy

This small village is the last stop of the Bosphorus river boat ride and it is a really nice place, when you get there you will see many restaurants and ice cream shops but the best thing to do there is to climb uphill till you get to the castle ruins and you look over and just see the black sea in front of you and it is a really great view.

Ok, this might sound stupid but all over the center of Istanbul you will see carts with Pretzels, but dont mistaken , these are the best I have ever tasted, it is also very cheap (like less than 50Cents) – Must try.

During a visit in Istanbul you must spend a few hours in the grand bazaar. it is a huge covered market (which means it is also a good escape from the rain if needed) and has about 4000 shops so you can find almost anything there.

Location: Carsikapi Caddesi, Beyazit, it’s about ten minute walk far from the Hagia Sophia, it is huge so you cant really miss it.
