This was one of my favorite places while visiting Helsinki, this church was built inside a big granite rock and if you don’t look careful enough you can miss it easily (since it is just a big rock with a green top  and the entrance is pretty small) but once you are there it is really amazing.

The Lutheran Cathedral (Tuomiokirkko) in Helsinki, Finland, is a really nice place to visit, the cathedral itself is very nice and the area around it is not so bad as well, the inside is not as impressive as the outside, so spend your time outside the cathedral and at the square around it.

Address: Unioninkatu 29, Helsinki.

I know this is a really expensive experience, but this is so worth it, it is really something you wont get the chance to experience much and it is really amazing. You go on a 4 hours tour which includes lunch (not that great, actually kind of bad but this wasn’t the purpose anyway), then you break the icy water and get into the frozen sea (with some special clothing so it is not cold obviously)

The ice breaker leaves from the city of Kemi (which is an hour and a half train ride from Rovaniemi, Finland)  and while there make sure you also visit the snow castle – its really awesome.
