This is a great Italian restaurant at Barcelona, really close to Plaza Catalunya and really close to our hotel (Casanova hotel) – we ate there twice in five days – good food, great service and prices are really ok.

while in Barcelona we stayed at Casanova by Rafael Hotel, located at Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 559 (which is about 5 minutes walk to plaza Catalunya. the rooms are really big considering it is close to the center, and they were clean and very comfortable to stay at.

I was visiting Barcelona for a week during September 2010 and I actually had a dilemma about this tip, since usually I write about good experiences and stuff i really liked but in this case its the opposite.

Port Olimpic is the area with some restaurants, bars and night clubs in Barcelona, right on the port so of course it has a great potential, great view and nice atmosphere there, but, i tried 2 different restaurants there and other than the fact they look really fancy and great and they are much more expensive than other places, the food was not that great (to say the least) – both times i was very disappointed – so maybe i chose the wrong places but striking out 2 out of 2 looks like a pattern to me…if you go there – make sure to know which place to go by recommendations (from someone you trust)  before you go there.

At  sagrada familia in Barcelona there is a lift you can take (2.5 euros) to go to the top and view the city, when you are inside the church you will see a line of people waiting to go up the lift, dont join them – instead go outside and search for the 2nd lift – it is a smaller lift but hardly any people waiting there and the best part about this one is that you can walk between towers and not only get to view the city from one tower – much more fun.

Note that the way down is by stairs
